This weekend, I’m up north in the great state of Washington again. Part of it is for work, and part of it is to celebrate my little sister’s golden birthday. This is apparently a thing. Your golden birthday is the year in which you turn the same age as the day of the month you were born. In less confusing terms, that means, kid sister is 24 on the 24th. I have never heard of this before, but she’s requested that everyone wear gold. Which will be awesome, I am sure.
Here are some posts I enjoyed this week:
Many people wrote about their life insurance policies. I learned a lot about life insurance but am still pretty convinced that I don’t need it, just yet.
Joe at Retire by 40 needs some help on the midnight munchies. I cannot help him as I cannot recall the last time I was awake at midnight, let alone awake and hungry.
Michelle at see Debt Run wrote a crock pot recipe and nearly talked about dianetics, which scared me, because Scientology is terrifying. Turns out she was talking about dietetics, which is far less scary.
Andrea at So Over This warns us not to work while we’re sick. I agree with her — your body tells you in plain language to slow the heck down. Listen!
Frugal Portland elsewhere:
- Over at the College Investor, I advised not to go to graduate school simply to postpone the real world.
Throughout the week, I link to posts I like on Twitter. Follow me?
