Positivity is a powerful force.
I stumbled on the prosperity game in December, and that prompted me to write daily about my goals. I found out after a bit of research that the prosperity game involves talking to the spirit world, and I didn’t complete the task.
You’re supposed to start with, $1000 and “spend” it — literally write checks for things you’d like to spend your money on, and you have to spend it all. It doubles each day, and you spend and you spend and you spend until you’ve done this for 21 days, and the idea is, you send out these “vibes” into the ether and you get money.
I thought it was all a bit esoteric for me.
But upon reflection, maybe not so much?
All of that since I played that silly game.
Still, each bit could be explained by rational means. Everyone knows that tax refunds are “just 0% interest loans to the government” and that someone has to win a gift card, and somehow I must be owed that unclaimed property.
But maybe there’s something to “positive vibes” — the power of positivity, and all that?
I heard about a study that proved that there’s s a direct correlation between low self-esteem and negative Facebook status updates. And that people, even close friends, don’t want to see negativity. Are drawn to positivity. To happy status updates.
So, since I’m not really an active Facebook user, I’ll have to find another way to incorporate happiness and positivity into my day.
