Who has two thumbs and under ten thousand dollars in debt?
That’s right, my total debt is just four digits now. And it’ll be four digits until it’s gone.
And that is EXCITING. So exciting that I even said to the voice of reason, look, my debt lost a digit, don’t I look skinny?
I over extended myself last month (on my debt payments, not my spending!), and it’s just not realistic now to put $1000 a month toward student loans. So I’ve amended my plan. At the beginning of the month, I’ll put $600 in the student loan pile, and at the end of the month, all eBay and part-time income will go toward that, too.
Last month, I just ended up using my emergency fund, which is not at all what I wanted. Now the emergency fund is back in tact, and it looks like I am still on track to pay off the student loan by November.
Provided I still contribute $400 each month, in addition to what gets taken out of my regular income.
It’s so close, I can feel it!
Reviewing last month’s update was kind of funny. I’m only a little closer now, but this milestone (one digit really does help) gives me the energy I was lacking last month.
Here we go, summer!
