I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned (six or seven times) that I really want a new camera.
Not just any camera. The Canon Rebel T4i (or EOS 650 for those of you in Europe). Well, the other day, I was talking to my mom on the phone, and she asked what I wanted for my birthday.
My birthday isn’t until November, but I know what I want. So, I told her. She saw the price, and said, “well, what if you got only that for your birthday AND Christmas?”
Sold. So, I went to Best Buy and signed up for a 0% 18 month credit card, which my mom has said she’s happy to pay. “But that’s all you get, remember, there won’t be more presents for you this year.”
I said, “all I get is all I wanted? I’m very happy about this!”
So, I bought it in Portland, and immediately drove up to Olympia to spend time with my parents this past weekend. I swear that camera was talking to me through the box.
Come play with me, Kathleen!
“I’m driving!” I said, wishing I’d taken the train.
I got to my parents’ house before they did, and immediately went out in the backyard to start putting together my new toy.
IT IS AMAZING.
I haven’t taken any life-altering pictures yet, but holy smokes I love love love love love this camera.
I went over to my friends’ house for dinner and showed it to one of them.
“Wow, congratulations,” she said. “I feel like I should get you a card or something!”
Instead, we’re going to take a photography class together, so we can learn a thing or two about these amazing pieces of machinery they call DSLRs.
I am thrilled! I’m a bit glad that the weather is icky now because otherwise I would be wanting to go get sunset pictures, or pictures of Portland! Instead, I’m actually able to work, some.
So, happy birthday to me, Merry Christmas to me, and to all of you on my list, you’re getting photos for Christmas!
