Those of you who follow along in Google Reader may not have noticed, but Frugal Portland has undergone another remodel — tagline and everything! No longer will I be focusing on getting out of anything — no! I will be focusing on getting into things, and doing so enthusiastically.
It may be a simple matter of language, but I realized that I don’t want to get out of debt. I want to become financially independent. What if I’ve been thinking about this all wrong, and focusing all my strength and energy on getting out of something is holding me back?
Well, starting today, I’m changing my focus. I’m too focused on positivity to even let worry, guilt, regret, shame, or negativity into my mind. Negative thoughts attract more negative thoughts, and by eliminating them all together, I’m re-framing my life. Choosing joy.
I’m going to take some time to really focus on what I want. Now, those of you over the age of five might not even know what it is you want. I sure don’t! But I’ll find it — I’ll try some ideas, and the ones that appeal to me will be the ones I work with. The others will fall to the wayside.
It’s much more positive to head toward something than away from something.
It begins with the first step.
Join me! Stop talking down to yourself — it’s time to realize just how great you are. Realize, acknowledge, know. You’re a great person and you are capable of many wonderful things.
What we think now is what we become in the future.
