I love Goodwill. I have mentioned this before. I like getting clothes there, and art, and dresses.
My friend told me that the vases that were filled with jewelry were really fun.
“They could be a good way to make a few dollars,” she said.
So, I went off.
Instead of going to the $15 vase, I upped the ante immediately, and bought the $80 vase.
Gotta spend money to make money, said the thrift-store Donald Trump in my head.
Then I went home and dumped everything out on the floor.
This was not fun. This was a bunch of unmarked crap.
But I diligently took pictures anyway. Put things up on eBay. And “made” $7. Then I put more up, and then, in a last act of desperation, and because I definitely didn’t want this crap laying around my house, I took a picture of the rest of it.
It sold for $24. But here’s the kicker. Someone in Australia bought it.
She paid $38 for International shipping, a price I vaguely researched, but am fairly certain is not enough.
So, I’m thinking of starting a course. I’ll call it “how to turn 80 dollars into 20 dollars” or maybe “get poor quick”… what do you think? Any takers? ;)
