Congratulations, Veronica! You’re the lucky winner of a gently used, and much adored Kindle Fire! Treat it nicely. It’ll be good to you. Now you can start reading books!

Pass out some Nicer Notes, too.

I liked doing this giveaway so much, and my favorite part was hearing about everyone’s favorite books of the year. Many people liked the Hunger Games, and I’d have to agree. They were compelling and interesting, and the sentences were short enough that even I could get through them!

In case anyone else is interested in the rest of the list, I’ve recompiled it below (so we don’t have to hunt through the comment section of a giveaway post!).

Frugal Portland readers’ favorite books of 2012

Nobody recommended that “mommy porn” book that keeps getting purchased. See, I knew I liked you guys.

I couldn't admit reading that in public.

Hehehe.. my friend works at a library and says that mommy porn book causes a lot of action. ie – Grandmother hears the book is all the rage, signs it out, starts reading, comes back in a storm, threatening the library and accusing them of providing pornography to the public, etc etc etc. hehehe. Makes her life interesting, as long as they're not too bad when they're mad!

My fiancé's FATHER heard about it and started reading it! Talk about awkward….

I want to know how many search hits you end up getting for putting the words "mommy porn" on your site. Update in a few months, please! =)

HAHA good point — my primary concern was not to get any actual traffic from the title!

Ew @ mommy porn…not the book that I've never read and never will, but the idea of it. Great compilation! I need a new book myself.

Agree wholeheartedly, blech! These look like good titles — I'm thinking I'll start working my way through some of them!

Thank you so much! You have no idea how happy I am! I'm going to use the heck out of that Kindle, since I have so much spare time commuting :) Any suggestions for a good read to start off on?

Haha @mommyporn … I got about 2/3 of the way through the first book before the terrible writing sapped the last remnants of my interest. Just atrocious! I'm on to the game of thrones series now, looks like they're going to be my life for the next year or so!
